ROSELLE, NJ - Another attempt to lure a youth in Roselle occurred Thursday afternoon, Sept. 22, when a 16 year old girl was approached on the 500 block of Walnut st. around 4:30p.m by a man in a silver SUV style vehicle. According to Roselle Police Chief Gerald J. Orlando, the man exited the vehicle and grabbed the girl around the waist, but the girl was able to break free and run away.
The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 30 years old, with dark hair and a thin build.
The assailant's description matches that sought in previous incident in which a 12-year-old girl was grabbed by the arm but was able to escape. In that incident, which that occurred on Sept. 21, at approximately 8 a.m., the girl was walking to school in the area of the 100 block of West 7th. Ave. in Roselle when she observed a silver SUV/Crossover vehicle parked and occupied by an unknown male. The man stated to the girl that he had something for her and held up a jacket. When the girl approached the vehicle, the man dropped the jacket and grabbed the girl by the arm. The girl was able to pull away from the man and run for help.
