ROSELLE/ROSELLE PARK, NJ - The polls are closed and the unofficial results are in for this primary election according to the Union County Clerks Office.
In local government all eyes were on a very competitive race for the democrats in Roselle with two seats up on the borough council. Reginald Atkins took the win for the seat of Council-At-Large over Angela Alvey-Wimbush.
The Fourth Ward seat had a three way democratic race with the incumbent Kim Shaw winning over and candidate Edward J. Hughes and Cindy Thomas.
The Republican candidate for the Fourth Ward seat is Roger Stryeski running unopposed.
In Roselle Park candidates were all running unopposed with Third Ward Councilman Ryan Kelly (R) and Kevin Kolbeck (D) and Fourth Ward runners of Michael Connelly (D) and Anthony Cordero (R). All will be in the November Election.
In the Presidential Race, Hillary Clinton won the democratic ticket and Donald Trump winning for the republicans in New Jersey.
At the state level Donald M. Payne Jr. (D) was running unopposed.
In the Union County race for the Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders, all were running unopposed.
