ROSELLE PARK, NJ - At the Thursday evening December 17, council meeting, Mayor Carl Hokanson and Council recognized many for their service in the community. 

The “Clean Community Clean Up Day” participants were given certificates of recognition for cleaning up the community. John La Vista was recognized for his volunteerism with the Recreation Soccer and given a certificate.

War Veteran George Rusin was also recognized and given a certificate of recognition for his service to the our Country and to the town of Roselle Park.

Roselle Park 24/7 members Joe DeIorio, Thos Shipley and Kathy Lloyd, along with Mayor Hokanson, presented Captain McCafferty of the Roselle Park Police Department with a Pet Chipping Scanner. The scanner will be used by the department to find the owners of lost pets in a more effective way. If an animal found, the police department can now scan the pet and if it has a chip, they can contact the owner immediately reducing the need for animal control and to save time and stress on the family and animal. The organization plans to hold a “Pet Chipping Event” for residents in the spring.
