ROSELLE, NJ - During the last Wednesdays Council meeting, Council members recognized five local men for their contributions to the community be presenting them with the Phenomenal Man Award. 

“We have recognized the women in the past and we have many men in our community that do really great things, so why not recognize the guys?” said Councilwoman Cynthia Johnson.  

Recognized where residents Kenneth Jones, Richard Lenihan, John Long, Garrett Smith, and Walter Wimbush. Also recognized were Councilman Reginald Atkins and Councilman Sam Bishop, along with Business Administrator Bryan Russel and Recreation Director Donald Shaw. Each gentleman was presented with a corsage by Johnson that was made with a dollar bill representing the petals of the flower.

John Long and Walter Wimbush were not present at the meeting. Wimbush was presented his award on Friday by Mayor Dansereau in the Council Chambers. 

Proclamations were also read into the meeting for the following: 

In memory of Francis Passarelli and Lillie M. Brown. 

In honor of Juneteenth, LGBTQ Pride Month and Men’s Health, for the month of June.
