GARWOOD, NJ – Fire Companies from Roselle, Garwood, Westfield, Linden, and Clark assisted Cranford Firefighters as they put out a blaze at Bodyart Collision Center on Wednesday afternoon.
The fire started in the rear of the building at approximately 4 p.m., according to the Breaking News Network. Heavy fire blazed in the roof of the building until approximately 5 p.m.
“We believe it started in the spray booth and worked its way up to the roof,” Cranford Fire Chief Dan Czeh said. “The fire is under control at this time. No injuries, no one was hurt and everyone evacuated the building.”
HazMat arrived at the scene at approximately 5:07 p.m. Garwood Fire Department was ventilating the building at that time.
“We’re really just ventilating at this point in time,” Czeh said. “We should be cleaned up here in about another half hour.”
