ROSELLE, NJ – Roselle graduate Damien Kane was among one of several that were honored at the 80th annual Union County Baseball Association Hot Stove Awards Dinner that took place Sunday in Clark.
Elizabeth High School graduates P.J. Walker and Jahd Thomas received the Chris Zusi Memorial Award and Joe Alvarez of Elizabeth and Wally Engelhardt of Elizabeth were inducted into the Union County Baseball Hall of Fame.
In addition to the Elizabeth residents, Linden High School graduate Jackie Lima received the Joseph R. Lombardi Memorial Award and Damien Kane of Roselle and Ray Crepeau of Linden were inducted into the Union County Baseball Hall of Fame. The late Bruce Henderson of Rahway was also inducted into the Hall of Fame.
New York Jets Head Coach Todd Bowles, an Elizabeth native, and New York Yankees great Sparky Lyle were the guest speakers. The event was hosted by Union County Freeholders. Chairman Bruce H. Bergen and Freeholders Alexander Mirabella, Angel G. Estrada, Linda Carter and Christopher Hudak were there to congratulate the group.
