ROSELLE PARK, NJ - Roselle Park is pushing to become one of the highest census responding municipalities in the state.
“It has a huge impact on the amount of federal funding that the state and Roselle Park gets,” said Mayor Joe Signorello III in a Facebook video on census day.
“We know that we were under counted in 2010,” Governor Murphy said during his June 18 daily briefing. “We have left literally billions of dollars in federal money on the table.” New Jersey also lost a congressional seat as a result of the 2010 census.
“It has a huge world of impact for the dollars we get from D.C. here locally,” Signorello continued.
Currently Roselle Park has a response rate of 70.1% compared to the national response rate of 61.8%. Union Counties response rate is 65.6% New Jersey 63.8%.
