ROSELLE PARK, NJ - A crowd of over 500 people came out on Sunday evening for the 2nd Annual Hispanic Heritage Festival at the Roselle Park High School.

It was a celebration of Hispanic culture and heritage with entertainment featured by performers in traditional dress, including singer and dancers from Otto Show Dance Studio. Groupo Los Tecuaes, Group Son Del Carbie and Groupo Pakarina Humbracuna.

A buffet of cuisine was provided by La Casa Rosita, EL Tiburon, Rockys, La Choza Nautica, El Tumi, X-Press Café,  Carbonazo Restaurants, Don Alex Restaurant, Stancis, El Taino Restaurant and Neltican Restaurant.

The event was part of a series of festivals the Casano Center has launched honoring the diverse heritage of Roselle Park’s citizens. The “3rd Festival of India” celebration is scheduled for September 16, and a European Heritage Festival will take place on October 8th.

“Roselle Park is a beautiful mosaic of people,” Hokanson said. “I want to thank all those who made our event a tremendous success, and we’re all looking forward to our Indian and European Heritage events.”

Mayor Hokanson, Councilman Meola, Councilman Fahoury, Councilman Conelly and Councilman Shipley along with Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders Angel Estrada attended the event and spoke to the crowd.

Casano Center Director Rupen Shah offered thanks to Roselle Park Police Department, First Aid Squad, High School Principal Sarah Costa, Roselle Park Education Association, Casano Center Association and SASS Club for their support.
