ROSELLE PARK, NJ - The Roselle Park community braved the cold to come out to the Rose Park Veterans Memorial Library on Saturday morning to help celebrate Veterans Day.
Mayor Carl Hokanson, Council Members, and many other guests joined in as they paid tribute to all Veterans, living and deceased, as well as current service members.
Mayor Hokanson a Veteran Marine, led the service. Musical selections were performed by the Roselle Park High School band, Mariann Brenner sang the National Anthem, and Councilman Thos Shipley urged everyone to join him in singing God Bless America.
Councilman William Fahoury who is also a Veteran gave a Marine's point of view of what its like to be in the field fighting the Taliban, the conditions of Veteran care today, and issues of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
The Roselle Park High School Band played TAPS and Pat Hinds played the bagpipes to end out the event. The event in its entirety can be viewed below.
