ROSELLE/ROSELLE PARK, NJ - Roselle Park hosted a “Fireworks Spectacular” on Sunday evening to celebrate the July 4th holiday.  Hundreds attended the event that featured slides, rock climbing and other games for the kids, along with food vendors and live entertainment by Ty Stephens and (the) Souljam, and Roselle Park’s own Thos Shipley a professional jazz vocalist and borough councilman who performed for the hometown crowd.

Union County Freeholder Sergio Granados reminded everyone, “today while you are watching the fireworks and tomorrow, not only think about the fireworks but think about our independence.”  

While thanking everyone for coming out to the event, Mayor Hokanson told the crowd, “Next year this event will be bigger and better!”

Roselle Park 4th of July - Stem Students Recognition and Performance 


Roselle Park Council members along with Master of Ceremonies Rupen Shah were also on stage to help ring in the start of the firework celebration. 

Resident and Veteran Jimmy Vigliotti sang the the Star Spangled Banner and God Bless America, and then the fireworks countdown began. Since there were 13 colonies, the countdown went from 13 to 1 with each ring of the bell. On the last ring, Mayor Hokanson said, “Light them up!” and instantaneously the fireworks began.
