ROSELLE PARK, NJ - Roselle Park Police say they have arrested two people in connection with the smoke bomb incident at the McDonald’s restaurant on Westfield Ave. that occurred on November 8.
According to Police Chief Daniel McCaffery, an investigation conducted by Detective Angelo Marino, found two individuals Callum Bujdos 19, of Springfield, and a 16-year-old juvenile from Roselle Park had entered into the men’s bathroom and set off a smoke grenade. The two fled the location as the fire alarm activated, causing an evacuation of the restaurant.
As a result of the incident, the Roselle Park Police, Roselle Park Fire Department, Union County Sheriff’s K-9, Union County Arson Squad, and Union County Sheriff Identification/Crime Scene Units all responded. Chief McCaffery stated that “this incident created a dangerous condition for those in the restaurant, and responding to the location.”
Callum and the Juvenile involved were both charged with one count of terroristic threats and released pending future Union County Superior Court and Family Court dates.
