ROSELLE, NJ - Families came out on Monday night to help countdown to the lighting of the towns official Christmas tree, and of course the arrival of Santa!

There were bounce houses, train rides, and ice skating as part of the towns Winter Wonderland. Olaf from Frozen and a few other characters were also on hand for Children to enjoy and parents to take lots of photos.

Speakers for the night event included Third Ward Councilwoman Andrea Staten, Mayor Christine Dansereau, Assemblywoman Annette Qujano, while Second Ward Councilwoman Carla Walker entertained everyone by walking through the crowd and asking the kids, what they wanted for Christmas. Council President Kim Shaw, Councilman Sam Bishop, and Councilman-at-Large Reginald Atkins were also at the event to help welcome the arrival of the jolly old man in the red suit.

The Roselle Girl Scout troops and resident Keyanna Jones-Lovett sang for the audience. Mayor Dansereau started the countdown with everyone to light the tree, and with that, you could hear the siren’s and the children yelling for the arrival of Santa.

After photos with Santa were finished, a special guest performance by DJ Lil Man, who took the stage for the teens of the town.

Roselle Community Group to Examine the 'Cost of Being Black in America'

ROSELLE, NJ - The Roselle-based community organizing group Community Acting Now will examine the book “The Black Tax: The Cost of Being Black in America" by author Shawn D. Rochester as part of a commemoration of Black History Month.

Female Boxer Dog Found in the Chandler Ave. Area of Roselle

ROSELLE, NJ - A female boxer was found on East 7th Ave. near Chandler Ave. and given to police on Feb. 16. The dog was later transported to the Newark Humane Society, where it will be on hold for the owner to claim her.

Officials from the Humane Society say that the dog is of senior age and very sweet. If the owner does not claim her, she will be available for adoption on Feb.
