Scrap Metal Recycling Event Scheduled for Union County

UNION COUNTY, NJ - Union County will host a Scrap Metal Recycling Event On Thursday, July 3rd, in three locations.

County Emergency Services Yard, 151 Kenilworth Boulevard, Cranford 07016

From GSP South -  Exit 138 Kenilworth, bearing left off exit ramp onto the Boulevard. Proceed through four (4) traffic lights. Emergency Services Building will be on your left before Nomahegan Park.

From U.S. 22 East – Heading East on Route 22, turn right onto N. Michigan Ave. Turn right onto Kenilworth Blvd. Proceed 1.2 miles and Emergency Services Building will be on your left before Nomahegan Park.


Rahway River Park (St. Georges Avenue), Rahway 07065

From Roselle/Linden area – Take St. Georges Avenue (Route 27) into Rahway. Entrance to the Park is on the right between Scott Ave. and W. Grand Ave. Follow signs once in the Park.

From Parkway South – Exit 135, bearing left off exit ramp onto traffic circle. Go under Parkway and take 2nd exit ramp off of circle onto Valley Road. Follow through one light and continue straight. Turn right into Rahway Park. Follow signs.


Westfield Conservation Center, 1300 Lamberts Mill Road, Westfield 07090

From GSP - Take Exit 135 and get onto Central Ave. Continue to the 2nd light and turn left onto Terminal Ave. At the next light turn right onto Westfield Ave. Go over the railroad tracks and take the first left onto Lamberts Mill Rd. and follow around to the Conservation Center on the left. OR

From Rt. 22 – Exit Park Ave in Scotch Plains. Continue on Park Ave. through Fanwood where Park Ave. becomes Martine Ave. Continue on Martine to the light at Raritan Road and make a left. Follow to the end and turn right onto Lamberts Mill Road. The Conservation Center will be on your right.Residents can drop off their metal for recycling, in Cranford, Rahway and Westfield.

All locations will be open from 9 am to 12 pm and personnel will be on hand to assist residents with removing items from their vehicles.

Old appliances, microwaves, air conditioners, and metal lawn furniture will be accepted. To get a complete list of items or to get more information visit them at http://ucnj.org/scrap-metal/.
