ROSELLE, NJ - A little rain did not stop Councilwoman Cindy Thomas, Recreation, OEM and DPW department staff members, and two volunteer residents, Shaheed Hunt and Mr. Thomas, from handing out over 200 coronavirus safety bags to residents on Monday afternoon.

Residents braved the weather to go to Borough Hall to pick up the bags that included face masks, hand sanitizer, resource materials for COVID-19, the 2020 Census and a Community Resource Guide, all combined into a cloth 2020 Census Bag as a reminder for everyone to go online and complete their Census forms.

The face masks were donated last month to many towns in the area by the Union County Freeholders.

“I would like to thank all the volunteers who assisted with the giveaways including but not limited to Union County Freeholder Andrea Staten, Recreation, OEM, DPW, and residents Shaheed Hunt and Mr. Thomas for extending a helping hand,” said Councilwoman Thomas. “I trust our residents appreciated the care bag and I pray we can do it again very soon. Be safe, stay connect and maintain social distance when possible,”
