On Tuesday, Sept. 27, at 7:30 p.m. at Edison Intermediate School, the Junior League of Elizabeth-Plainfield will host a program on “Raising Resilient Girls,” presented by Simone Marean, Executive Director and Co-Founder of the internationally recognized Girls Leadership (GL). Her engaging presentation, which is open to the public, will cover the development of girl dynamics beginning in preschool through high school years.
This presentation for parents and teachers will focus on how to help girls practice assertive, self-expression, emotional intelligence, and healthy relationships, preparing them for a life of personal and societal leadership.
Attendees will have the opportunity to learn how and why girls of all ages are aggressive with one another, the importance of emotional intelligence for healthy conflict, the role of mistakes and the limitations of blame, the concept of contribution, as well as establishing a road for healthy conflict. The one-hour program will be followed by a 30 minute Q&A session.
