On Oct. 27, from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., Imagine, A Center for Coping with Loss and the First United Methodist Church of Westfield present a screening and discussion of the documentary “The Mask You Live In.”
“The Mask You Live In” is a documentary that follows boys and young men as they struggle to stay true to themselves while negotiating America’s narrow definition of masculinity. Boys and men need safe places where they can take off their masks and be vulnerable. The film discusses the consequences that occur when men and boys wear a mask instead of being able to express their grief and openly talk about the impact of the challenges they experience in life.
This film imagines a world where men and boys can share their feelings, seek support and share their stories. **Appropriate for high school age and older, but parents should note the film contains sexual content, cursing, depictions of violence and frank discussions of suicide and rape.
Please RSVP by Tuesday, Oct. 25. To RSVP or for further information contact Connie Palmer at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 908-264-3100
