ELIZABETH, NJ — Due to potential health and public safety issues caused by a water main break on Elizabethtown Plaza, Thursday night’s Union County Freeholder meeting has been canceled, according to an announcement on the county’s website.  The rescheduled date will be announced on Monday, it said.

According to a draft of the agenda, the freeholders had planned to discuss the Watchung Reservation Trails Master Plan at the meeting, proposing an amendment to the resolution that approved the plan to reflect the board's disapproval of the parts of the plan that recommend and provide for mountain biking there.
