ROSELLE, NJ — Tuesday is the last day to mail in ballots for the primary election. There are only two primary races being contested in Roselle this year, 1st Ward Council member and 3rd Ward Council member.

In the First Ward the incumbent councilmember Isabel Sousa is running on Line A. Richard Villeda is running on Line B. In the Third Ward incumbent councilmember Cynthia Johnson is running on Line B. Her opponent on Line A is Yvan Ducheine.

Candidates on Line A use the slogan “Not Me. Us.” This is the slogan of Sen. Bernie Sanders' presidential campaign and is meant to signal that Line A candidates are part of the progressive wing of the Democratic Party. Line B candidates are running with the support of the Union County Democratic Party. Line B includes presumptive Democratic President nominee Joe Biden and current United States Senator Cory Booker and its candidates.
