UNION, NJ - A special meeting has been called by Union County Democratic Chairman Jerry Green to select the candidate for Union County Sherrif to put on to the ballot for the November 4th general election.

This vacancy arose after the passing of Sheriff Ralph Froehlich on July 20, 2014, where he served as the Union County Sheriff for over 30 years.

“While this will undoubtedly be for many of us a somber occasion given the circumstances of how the vacancy occurred, it is also our responsibility to select our party’s standard bearer for County Sheriff,” stated Green.  “I have provided written notification to all members of the Union County Democratic Committee, and I trust they will make every effort to be at this important meeting.”

The meeting will take place on Thursday September 4, 2014 at 6:30 pm at the Galloping Hill Caterers, 325 Chestnut Street, Union, NJ.
