ROSELLE, NJ - A correction to the story posted on TAPinto on Monday evening: TAPinto Roselle had originally reported Council President Kim Shaw as being sworn in as mayor. Shaw was actually sworn in as “acting mayor” until a new candidate can be chosen.

Shaw is the first African-American woman in the position of acting mayor in Roselle history due to the vacancy of former Mayor Jamel Holley leaving for the State Assembly.

The Democratic Committee has chosen two names to submit to the borough council for consideration for the position of mayor. The final decision will be announced at the next regularly scheduled council meeting, which at this time is tentatively scheduled for next week, on Wednesday, March 11.
