The 2016 list of America’s Healthiest Schools, published by the Alliance for a Healthier Generation, identifies 328 of the nation’s healthiest schools based on a rigorous set of criteria – from availability of nutritious foods to access to quality physical education opportunities, as part of the Alliance’s Healthy Schools Program.

“We are thrilled as we diligently work to ensure that our students and staff are focusing on the impact of healthy choices, with the belief that healthy habits can only positively impact intellectual growth, said Asst. Superintendent Dr. Dana E. Walker. “We embrace educating our students' minds, bodies and spirits. All of our efforts are interconnected and purposeful! As we focus on healthy options daily, we are changing our present conditions and the world's future!

In celebration of these states’ combined 38 award-winning schools, the event will spotlight how each of these schools is serving as a best-in-class example of the nationwide movement to create a culture of health at school.

The event will take place at Saint Peter’s University – Mac Mahon Student Center in Jersey City, on Dec. 9, 2016.

Presenters at the event will be Howell Wechsler, Ed.D., M.P.H., Chief Executive Officer, Alliance for a Healthier Generation Angela Moskow, Vice President, Sanofi U.S.
