ROSELLE PARK, NJ - Police and the Roselle Park Fire Department responded to the 100 Block of Jerome St. at the Sunrise Village apartment complex for a report of a utility pole and wires down in the main parking area of the complex on Thursday afternoon.
Police say, a delivery truck belonging to Allied Building Supplies out of East Rutherford, was unloading building supplies and upon exiting the lot struck the power lines attached to both the utility pole and the #149 building. This caused the utility pole to break into three pieces and pull the facade of the 149 building to the ground.
Two vehicles parked in the lot appeared to have minor damage. No injuries were reported.
The apartment complex management, (Borough of Roselle Park) building Engineer and PSE&G were on scene attempting to make the area safe and begin cleanup. It is unknown at this time if the tenants from the one apartment affected will be temporarily displaced.
