ROSELLE PARK, NJ — When his dad, a Westfield police detective who died last month, couldn't be at young Eric Lieberman’s eighth grade graduation from Roselle Park Middle School, 16 members of the Westfield Police Department instead walked across the stage to give him a hug Tuesday night.
“What a beautiful tribute to both my son and his father,” said his mom, Tammy Lieberman.
The police department has been extremely supportive since her husband, 47-year-old Detective Eric Lieberman, died unexpectedly May 22, Tammy Lieberman said.
“They truly made a huge impact on my family. Words cannot express the gratitude that we feel for the Westfield Police Department,” she said. “They have gone above and beyond to let the boys know that they are there for them. I'm so touched by the love they've shown.”
A fund has been established to raise money for Eric and his brother, Tyler. For more information, click here.
