Ways to Celebrate July 4 Around the Area

ROSELLE PARK, NJ — The Borough of Roselle Park Independents Day celebration will kick off on Saturday, July 1, at 6 P.M. with fun for the whole family including fireworks, food vendors, carnival games, inflatable's such as rock climbing, slide, obstacle courses and 5 in1 all while listening to live music. You can also catch the Troopers from Northeast Remnant Co., 501st Legion.

The Borough has traditionally celebrated the best fireworks program in Union County and continues to attract thousands of people to Roselle Parks High School Field marking their 12th year of this event.

Transportation for Roselle Park Senior citizens will be provided to them by signing up at the Casano Community Center. Street closures will be enforced in surrounding neighborhoods.

Food vendors will be located on Colfax avenue, including BBQ, Italian Ice, Pizza, Popcorn, Hot Dogs and more with a live concert will beginning at 7 P.M. featuring Bryan Clayton and the Green River Band, followed by spectacular fireworks at dusk.

Rain date will be Tuesday August 1st on “National Night Out.”

Downtown Westfield will celebrate Independence Day by kicking off its annual summer-long Sweet Sounds Downtown Jazz Festival. The family-friendly event will take over downtown from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. July 4 with free performances by live bands at five locations. Rain date Wednesday. For details, click here.

The celebration in Westfield will continue Thursday, July 6, with a free patriotic performance by the Westfield Community Band in Mindowaskin Park. Click here for details. In the event of rain, the concert will be moved to the municipal building.

The City of Elizabeth will host its annual Independence Day Celebration and 4th of July Fireworks Show - Tues July 4,  5:45 pm to 10:00 pm on at the Veterans Memorial Waterfront Park located at Front Street and Elizabeth Avenue. The fireworks show will begin at 8:45 p.m. 

Scotch Plains Township will host its second annual fireworks display on Saturday, July 1, at the Scotch Hills Golf Course. The golf course will open at 7 p.m. for spectators to set down chairs and blankets. Fireworks will begin at dusk.  To learn more, click here. Rain date July 2.

Clark will host its annual fireworks display July 4 at Arthur L. Johnson High School. Starting at 7 p.m. attendees can enjoy food, ice cream and music while shopping novelty vendors. For more information, click here.

Also on July 4, Cranford will host festivities throughout the day, including its annual canoe races; Firecracker Four-Miler and Fun Run; a carnival featuring food vendors, games and amusements; and fireworks beginning 9:15 p.m. in Nomahegan Park. For details, click here.
