If you like a bargain, love antiques or collectibles, or need furniture/household/clothing/children’s items, please visit the upcoming 6th Annual Massive Tag Sale Friday & Saturday, April 27-28, starting at 9 a.m., to benefit Furniture Assist. The sale is held at 816 Prospect Street, Westfield, NJ, and attracts bargain-hunters, antique dealers and collectors from all over New Jersey with its offering of high quality new and vintage furniture, jewelry, rugs, lamps, toys, bikes, handbags, clothing, attic treasures, etc etc. This sale is huge!

Proceeds of the sale benefit Furniture Assist (FA), a nonprofit organization established in 2004 to meet the needs of families in northern NJ. FA. The Annual Tag Sale, run entirely by community members and supported by generous donations of new and vintage items, is FA’s largest annual fundraising event.

“This year’s sale has an amazing selection of housewares, kids’ items, and antiques, including furniture, vintage pyrex, china, art, rugs and more,” said Tag Sale host Joyce Friedman. “We are happy to support the important work of Furniture Assist,” Ms. Friedman continued, “and invite everyone to join us to find a bargain and raise money for a great cause!”

Furniture Assist is now located in Springfield, NJ, and is entirely volunteer-run. Originally an outreach program at their church, founders Dawson and Sandy Yoemans were guided by a simple concept, “we accept donations from those who have items to give … and give these items to people in need.” Individuals/families in need of furniture, clothing, and/or household necessities are referred to FA by a large network of social service, disaster relief, and religious organizations, and are known as Clients.  “Clients make an appointment to visit our warehouse, select what they need, and take these items home with them,” explained Mr. Yoemans. Revenues raised by the Tag Sale and other events are used to pay FA’s ongoing expenses, such as rent, utilities, etc.

Items given by FA to Clients have been donated by members of the community. FA accepts donations of no-longer-needed but usable furniture, clothing, household necessities, toys, baby items, and home décor on Sundays from noon – 2:30 pm at its 24 Commerce Street, Springfield location (or by appointment).  Furniture Assist is able to serve approximately 25 families per week, made possible by generous donations of household goods as well as by funds raised by events such as the Tag Sale. For more information about FA, please visit our website www.furnitureassist.com or our Facebook page (“Like” us for updates!). New volunteers are always welcome! Call/text Kassie at 908-447-9880 for more information.

In the meantime, don’t miss this “Tag Sale of Your Dreams” this Friday and Saturday, April 27-28 to browse an amazing selection, make a donation, or learn more about Furniture Assist! Please join us - There is truly something for everyone!
