NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ - The TAPinto Rookie of the Year for 2020 is Jon “Ferris” Meredith of TAPinto Wayne.

Despite the many challenges faced in 2020, including starting a business during a worldwide pandemic in a town he was not familiar with, Meredith never let it get in his way, becoming the fastest franchise to reach 1 million annual pageviews in TAPinto history.

“Jon ‘Ferris’ Meredith being named ‘Rookie of the Year’ was a no brainer,” TAPinto Founder and CEO Mike Shapiro said. “Ferris has eclipsed every internal goal and benchmark that we set for new franchises. His first year with us should be a model that all future franchises try to emulate. We can’t wait to see what his future looks like here at TAPinto.

Meredith launched TAPinto Wayne October 2019 after spending time in medical sales. However, Ferris has always had an entrepreneurial spirit - he helped build a successful party entertainment company.

He said the reason he joined TAPinto was because of the support he received from Shapiro.

“I knew I could write, I knew I could sell, so it seemed like a good fit for me,” Meredith said, “but it was Mike that made me realize that I would be in good hands and have great support from someone who knew this business really well.”

Since starting his own franchise, Meredith has learned several things, but he says the most important lesson he’s learned is objectivity.

“I learned what it means to truly be objective,” Meredith said. “Everyone has an opinion on every subject-matter, whether we know it or not. It's a continuous effort to always remain objective and leave my personal opinions out.”

Looking to 2021, Meredith has high hopes for his site. While he is focused on expanding his readership and advertising, he is most focused on how to better improve his readers’ experience by learning from other notable franchises.

“Right now, I believe I will be following the TAPinto Westfield model and turn TAPinto Wayne into a huge force in this local area.”
