The featured TAPinto franchisee for the month of October 2020 is Wendi and Chris Manderioli, who own and operate TAPinto Randolph.  The wife/husband team have built a profitable online local news business while providing high-quality, objective local news for the residents of Randolph, New Jersey.

Q. Why did you want to franchise a TAPinto site? What caused you to choose Randolph as your TAPinto location?

We have lived in Randolph for 18 years now, 11 years when the opportunity was presented to us. We have always been very involved in the community as volunteers and Chris as a coach as our children were younger at the time, and we simply wanted to stay involved and share all of the great things going on in Randolph with the community. We also both feel very strong about communication and felt that Randolph needed an outlet for this, one that does not sensationalize the local news.

Q. What do you enjoy the most about your town?

Randolph is an extremely family-oriented town. The township council and board of education members are such genuine and hard-working people, who really care about the town. Randolph has everything you would expect in a suburban town, crime is low and it is a very safe friendly environment. We enjoy the lack of hard-core news!

Q. Is TAPinto full time for you? If not, what do you also do?

It is a full time job for us combined, with other full time jobs such as raising our children. Chris has a full-time job, but he helps me out part-time on nights and weekends. Since he is already in sales, that helps with selling advertising for our site, and he also helps with our sports coverage and more.

Q. What are some of your business strengths? What’s something you would like to work on?

We are available, accessible and always willing to take on any story going on in town. We enjoy meeting new people from town every day, and we know what businesses would really work with our model well. We are always looking for more partners to work with us.

Q. Describe the TAPinto culture.

The TAPinto culture has certainly been one of inclusiveness and support over the 7 years we have been involved. The franchisees regularly interact and talk, bouncing ideas off each other and helping one another with guidance and advice. Sharing of stories and collaborating on advertising has also been beneficial. Corporate runs monthly trainings and info sessions, while also dishing out ideas and advice on a regular basis.

Q. What are your goals at TAPinto? Any future plans for TAPinto Randolph?

Our goals include staying true to our model as an objective factual news source. We hope to partner with more local and regional businesses in order to further grow ourselves and to help other businesses who may have suffered during this pandemic to get their feet off the ground again. We would like for more Randolph businesses to realize the value of our partnership.

Q. How do you think businesses and readers can best utilize TAPinto Randolph? What advantages does TAPinto have that other marketing platforms lack?

Readers can best utilize TAPinto Randolph as a way of keeping themselves updated and in the loop on all the things going on in our community. Anyone who is interested in knowing about the schools, the Town Council, parks and recreation, road construction, local religious and charity events, high school sports, high achieving students of all age categories, and of course the Randolph business community, will find that - and more - on TAPinto Randolph.

Q.  Is there anything else you'd like to say?

Every business has a message they want to send and a story they want to tell, but they often don’t have a way to successfully get that out.  TAPinto has the perfect platform to deliver that message to a wide range of eyes across the local community. Businesses can build their brand and name recognition through visual marketing that stays on the site 24/7, while also using content marketing to build credibility and tell their story.
