Make Music Roselle Park

Roselle Park, June 3, 2019 – Make Music Roselle Park, part of an annual global celebration of music occurring on the summer solstice, returns for its second year with a lineup consisting of bands and acoustic acts as well as a kids open mic hour.

Make Music Day will be held June 21 and bring seven hours of performances to two locations along Chestnut Street. The first series of performances takes place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the lawn of the Roselle Park Veterans Memorial Library, where a trio of singer-songwriters will perform: Ryan Chatelain, Worst Sumo, and Michael Gray.

The evening portion will run from 5 to 9 p.m. at the gazebo at Michael J. Mauri Park. The kids open mic hour will kick things off and be followed by Ray Bally (experimental rock band), Babym0ms (singer-songwriter) and The Purple Shadows (classic rock cover band).

Latin Bites will sell food at both locations, while Uncle Louie G will sell treats at the gazebo. Guests are also welcome to pack their own lunches and dinners and make a picnic out of it.

Make Music Day began in France in 1982 as the Fête de la Musique and has spread to more than 1,000 cities across 120 countries. Completely different from a typical music festival, Make Music concerts are performed by people of all ages and skill levels at public spaces, including parks, plazas, streets, sidewalks, porches and storefronts. This year, more than 80 U.S. cities in 31 states will host more than 5,000 free outdoor concerts, music lessons, jam sessions and other exciting music-making events as part of the world’s largest annual music event. Roselle Park is one of just two New Jersey communities participating, the other being Montclair.

Make Music Roselle Park is sponsored by the Roselle Park Arts Committee.
