ROSELLE PARK, NJ - During the Thursday, July 21, council meeting, Mayor Carl Hokanson and council members presented a proclamation naming the town of Arpino Italy, as an official “Sister City” to Roselle Park to share art and culture.

The Borough of Roselle Park Arts Council recommended the creation of a “Sister City” relationship to increase awareness of the importance of the “Arts Beyond Boarders” to build the cultural, educational, economic and government relationships that are mutually beneficial to each community. 

Locally, the “Roselle Park Loves Arts!” festival is an annual celebration of the arts in Roselle Park featuring local and professional artists in a variety of media from the New Jersey/New York City region.  The interactive arts festival along with the Roselle Park Loves Shorts International Film Festival and an Roselle Park Loves Jazz Fest, organized by a group of volunteers are including international communities like Arpino, Italy as part of its world-wide arts display initiative.

Councilman Thomas (Thos) Shipley and former Mayor Joseph DeIorio will arrive in Arpino, Italy on Saturday morning bringing artwork from Roselle Park to present to the Mayor of Arpino and the community.
