ROSELLE, NJ — Mayor Reginald Atkins and Roselle Borough Council will be holding a costume parade for children and adults this Halloween.
This Autumn Fest will take place the day of Halloween from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. in front of Borough Hall. To make sure that everyone is following proper social distancing guidelines space will be limited. Those wishing to reserve a spot should contact Nidian Ruiz at 908-259-0946 or email@example.com.
At 6 p.m. on Chestnut Street everyone in costume is invited to participate in the re-creation of the ‘Thriller’ dance led by the dancers from Legends Dance. After the costume parade there will be trunk-or-treating in the parking lot of Borough Hall, which will also have strict social distancing enforced and spots need to be reserved.
Trunk-or-treating is when candy is given out of the back of a vehicle rather than someone’s home. People can also choose to decorate their car before participating. This year extra precautions are in place including a limit on the number of cars. Participants have to RSVP to Nidian Ruiz. All of the candy must be completely wrapped and laid out so that kids can pick up their own treat.
This is Roselle’s first Autumn Fest and parade, with plans to make this into an annual event.
