ROSELLE, NJ - (Update) In a conversation on Tuesday afternoon, with Roselle Schools Superintendent Dr. Richard Corbett about the termination of the districts Business Administrator Jason Jones and his secretary Jade Wilson, Corbett clarified, “the correct term is they were “Released of responsibilities in the business office,” and that is all that I am going to say on that subject.”
It was previously reported last week that the districts Business Administrator Jason Jones and his secretary Jade Wilson were terminated due to a “question of improprieties” after many questions were raised on the districts financial spending habits.
In our interview with Corbett at that time, he said that he felt there was enough reason to relieve the B.A. and his secretary from employment. Corbett also confirmed that both Jones and Wilson had to hand over their computers, phones, and any other school property as that action is always normal procedure.
“I cannot speak on employee issues, but I can tell you that I intend to act swiftly on this situation and have arranged for an immediate full extensive audit into all of the school district ’s business office records,” Corbett said. “The auditors will have full access to everything, and that will include speaking with any personnel when needed.”
Corbett also stated, the audit will start first thing on Monday, Feb. 5 and if any criminal activity is found he will turn it over to police for a full investigation.
