ROSELLE PARK, NJ - The Roselle Park Art Festival returns on Saturday, September 28 with local, regional and professional artists, artisans and performers. The flyers in the photo gallery list the entertainment, food and more! The event will run from Noon to 7 p.m.
This year the festival will also include an accessible arts division with adapted activities to serve individuals with all types of impairments.
“As we expand and grow, we want to do our best to include everyone so this is an exciting new addition to the festival this year,” says Pam Welch-Reinoso, President of the Roselle Park Loves Arts, Inc. nonprofit organization.
A Speech-Language Pathologist, Occupational Therapist, and Behavioral Therapist are leading this effort, which is being supported by Roselle Park Loves Arts, and will include adapted activities in art/dance for those with motor, physical, cognitive, developmental, or sensory challenges. It will be held in the air-conditioned Casano Center for those that require a space that is quieter, less crowded and cooler than outdoors.
Everyone is invited to attend the outside Art Walk and activities. Some activities along the outside Art Walk will have adapted materials as well. A “Fast Pass” to food trucks will be available to those caregivers/parents of people with disabilities who cannot stand in line. The area will be equipment, including wheelchair, friendly, with adapted supplies including switch-activated activities, and high contrast colors/images for those with VI. Communication boards may be available in all popular symbol sets.
People without challenges may participate in all the indoor accessible activities, but those with need will be serviced first.
The Roselle Park Arts Festival is made possible in part by a HEART (History, Education, Arts Reaching Thousands) Grant from the Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders The Borough of Roselle Park, Union County Parks Department, The Casano Community Center Roselle Park Education Association and Roselle Park Loves Arts, Inc.
