ROSELLE, NJ - The Roselle Everett Hatcher Prevention Coalition (REHPC), was the host of a multi-alliance program called "Getting High Naturally" and featured speaker, psychologist, and comedian, Matt Bellace, Ph.D.
The March 5, event featured many drug alliances from the around the area coming together to meet and talk to parents, educators and the public about the drug epidemic facing our communities and how to work together to prevent it from possibly happening in their families.
Bellace spoke to the audience about ways to engage kids in other activities to help them get “high naturally” in different ways such as sports, the arts, and other types of activities. He presented his point with a comedic edge while talking about his experiences as a kid and working with youth today.
“It was great to see how we're moving on the right track, seeing so many different alliances coming together with the same vision and passion,” said Helen Quesada, REHPC coalition coordinator. “It’s absolutely wonderful!”
“We really care about our youth, and we will continue to do everything we can to foster the growth of a successful community. Our vision is to see youth making positive choices to remain drug-free,” Quesada said.
This was the third event the organization has sponsored. Previously they have presented two “Hidden in Plain Sight” A look into a Teenagers Room events. Links to the videos for those events can be viewed by click on the links below.
