ROSELLE, NJ — According to unofficial results, Cynthia Johnson has taken a significant lead over her opponent, Yvan Ducheine, in the 3rd Ward Council member race.

With 100% of mail-in ballots being counted Johnson has earned nearly three times as many votes as Ducheine. Should these numbers hold, Johnson will be running unopposed in November’s general election.

2020 showed a significant decrease in voter turnout with 379 total mail-in votes. In the 2017 primary which Johnson won by a slimmer margin, a total of 478 votes were cast.
