ROSELLE/ROSELLE PARK, NJ – Residents from Roselle and Roselle Park participated with communities across all 50 states, in National Night Out on Tuesday night. 

The annual event brings neighbors together to promote strong police-community partnerships, and neighborhoods a safer and more caring place to live and work.

Roselle had bounce houses and tents set up with free giveaways from many vendors, with the hit of the night, a chance to dunk a firefighter or police officer in the dunking booth! After all of the excitement, one could jump in line and grab a hot dog and other goodies that were being grilled and served up.

In Roselle Park, booths were also set up for the kids and their parents to visit.  A tent by the Union County Sheriff Officers had a demo table of the different types of weapons used by SWAT teams along with handing out informational material about prevention programs like drug awareness and other giveaways. 

The Fire Dept. demonstrated the tools used in extracting people in accidents by cutting up and dismantling a car and Children also had the chance to see what it was like to sit in a fire truck and police cars. 

Dee’s Hut a long-time staple in Roselle Park was on hand serving up the hot dogs. 

Students from the Jr. Police academy was on hand to talk to everyone about their experience in the program this year and gave a small demonstration that can be seen in the highlight video below. and is the official electronic news source for your town!
