ELIZABETH, NJ - Roselle Park 24/7's annual Toys4 Kids program celebrated the “Season of Giving” by delivering toys that were collected at various locations in Roselle Park. The program now in its 4th year was the largest donation to date.
Six large sacks of toys were dropped off at Trinitas Regional Medical Center’s Radiation Oncology department on Wednesday afternoon by Jodi Bellamo, Program Director for the event and Councilman William Fahoury.
“This is our 4th year and I am grateful to be a part of such a great organization,” said Bellamo. “There was such an outpour of caring and people wanting to help. We need to keep growing and continue to give back to our community.”
The toys were donated at several drop-off points throughout Roselle Park which included: Joe & Jodi's Barbershop, Brennan and Son's Bamboo Sheets and Pillows, Dowling’s Bar, MVB Barbershop as well as at Thos Shipley and Joe DeIorio’s Annual Christmas Party where guests donated toys.
Both DeIorio and Shipley are Councilmen in the Borough of Roselle Park and have been the driving force behind Roselle Park 24/7 and a vast array of community-minded projects over the last several years which include the Christmas Toy Drive among other youth and school-related fundraiser’s.
“We are overwhelmed with the community's outpouring of generosity and support,” said DeIorio. “It's programs like these that is the essence of Roselle Park 24/7, to help those in need.”
Bellamo and Fahoury were greeted at the Cancer center by Doreen Rinaldo, Radiation Therapist and one of the founding members of Roselle 24/7. Several additional bags of toys were delivered to Saint Claire’s Home for Children.
