ROSELLE PARK, NJ - Resident Jodi Bellomo tends to her customers every day at Joe & Jodi’s Barbershop, helping them with their haircut and coloring needs. When her workday is done, Bellomo puts her spirit into the community, especially around Christmas when she asks for everyone's help with her Toys 4 Kids program.

“I remember when my twin daughters were small and needed to spend a lot of time with hospital visits.”  During the holiday’s it was rough, but I remember Santa Claus and his elves visiting at Christmas and delivering toys.  I will never forget the look on my kids and the other children's faces in the hospital beaming with joy," says Bellomo. "Through our toy drive, I want to give back that same feeling of joy.”

To that end, for the last 4 years, Bellomo’s business has partnered with a local non-profit Roselle Park 24/7 to run their annual Toy Drive from Joe & Jodi’s Barbershop at 210 Chestnut Street in Roselle Park.

The business began over 60 years ago with her father, Joe Bellomo, under the name, Joe’s Barbershop.  The barbershop became a staple of the downtown businesses and a barbershop everyone in the community knew.

It was in 1991 Joe’s daughter joined the family business and he later changed the name to Joe & Jodi’s Barbershop.

Since then, Jodi has been an active volunteer and often will help others in need for various causes personally, and from her business.

“I believe putting the community first is good business and good for the town and, a lot of Roselle Park businesses embrace, giving back to the community,” said Ms. Bellomo.

This year, the Toys 4 Kids program will be collecting for St. Claire’s/AFRC Home for Children, Trinitas Cancer Center and the Chancellor Avenue Elementary School in Newark.

Toys will be collected until December 18. For more information about the toy drive visit or to donate, go to
