2020 Census: why Roselle still needs a complete count!

As of May 28, 2020, about 59.9 percent of Roselle households responded to the 2020 Census, which is below the state response rate of more than 62 percent. These Census counts will determine federal funding for health care, schools and roads in our community, which fuels community resources like hospitals, school meals and programs and services for the elderly. The COVID-19 pandemic has underscored the importance of these programs. If our communities and households don’t complete the Census, we’ll lose out on our fair share of federal funding.

Though April 1st - Census Day - has passed, timelines have been extended and households can still respond. You can still fill out your questionnaire online at 2020census.gov or over the phone at 844-330-2020. Census Bureau workers will begin following up with households who have not responded by August. Completing the Census now will help the community be represented and funded for the next ten years.
