ROSELLE, NJ - Three people took their oath to sit on the Roselle Board of Education (B.O.E.) on Monday night, but the votes for both President and Vice President ended in a tie.
Family, friends, and residents came out for the swearing in of Archange Antione, Johnathan Davis, and Keyanna Jones to the Roselle Board of Education for 2018.
Up next was the board’s task of choosing the president and vice-president. After two round of a tied votes for each position, the decision will have to be made by the County Supervisor.
According to the B.O.E. Attorney, each person wishing to be considered for the positions will be required to submit a “Letter of Intent” and their Resume’ no later than January 10, for consideration. The B.O.E. attorney also said, the candidates will be either interviewed or they may just be chosen by the supervisor.
The board also voted to accept the resignation of Arthur Rice and to start a search to fill that vacancy.
A vote was also taken to schedule the next meeting for January 29, at 7 p.m. This will be one regular public session.
