ROSELLE, NJ - Mayor Christine Dansereau and Borough officials hosted a Town Hall Meeting on Wednesday evening with guest speakers, NJ State Senator Joseph Cryan and NJ Secretary of State Tahesha Way, in an open discussion of information coming out of Trenton and Roselle's partnership with the State.
It was a full audience as residents gathered at the Warinanco Sports Center to hear an update of what's happening in Trenton and how it relates to Roselle, from Senator Cryan who spoke about Senior Property Tax Freeze, the state budget, school funding, libraries, and many other topics.
Secretary of State Tahesha Way, spoke with the main emphasis on the upcoming 2020 Census Count explaining how vital it is to count every individual. She explained how the counts affect the Federal Funding of 55 programs such as transportation funding, and even more local, how much to allocate to the student lunch programs and more.
The Secretary also mentioned there will be some job opportunities available for Census takers and the pay would be in the $20. per hour range.
When the representatives finished speaking, they stepped back for the community to take a turn at the microphone to ask questions. Video of the entire event including the question-answer session can be viewed below.
