ROSELLE PARK, NJ - On March 25, the Roselle Park Mayor and Council installed Councilman-Select Robert A. Rubilla to fill the unexpired term of Will Fahoury, who moved out of town. The local Republican Municipal Committee selected three candidates for the all-Democratic council to select from. Rubilla was selected by a 4-0 vote confirming the appointment with Councilman Gregory Johnson absent due to personal concerns. Rubilla, a long-time elected and appointed official for over 32 years, retired from political life in 2007. This is his seventh term as an elected public officeholder.
He is the lone Republican on the governing body in Roselle Park.
Mayor Joseph Signorello III appointed Rubilla Chairperson of the Technology Committee of the Public Services and Administration Standing Committee. Signorello also designated Rubilla as the Borough's Liaison to the Environmental Commission and the Designee to the Library Board of Trustees.
