NEWARK, NJ - Police are looking for an Elizabeth man that was involved in a hit and run that occurred in Newark.
According to Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II, and Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose, Police are looking for Nester Marin-Romaldo, 35, of Elizabeth for a hit-and-run that resulted in serious injuries to two female pedestrians as they were leaving a local Newark establishment.
According to authorities, it is alleged that on Sunday, Jan. 6, at approximately 1:58 am two women were struck by a white SUV in the area of Verona Avenue and Broadway in the city of Newark. Both sustained life-threatening injuries and remain hospitalized.
Authorities said Marin-Romaldo is charged with two counts of aggravated assault and one count of leaving the scene of an accident in which the two women – ages 48 and 33 – both sustained serious bodily injuries.
According to police, Marin-Romaldo last known address was Elizabeth. He is originally from Mexico.
