WESTFIELD, NJ - The Union County Police Bomb Squad closed off a portion of South Avenue in downtown Westfield late Friday afternoon in response to a bomb threat.

A suspicious box was found in the area. The traffic circle was closed off and the area between the circle and Summit Avenue across the street from the train station was impassible.
