ROSELLE PARK, NJ — Mayor Joe Signorello III swore in Antonio Centeno to the position of Probationary Patrolman in the Roselle Park Police Department during Thursday night's regularly scheduled council meeting.

At the start of the meeting the Borough Council unanimously voted to appoint Centeno to the position. Centeno was joined at the swearing in by his family, with his mother holding the bible as he was sworn in.

“He has a lot of attributes that set him higher than everyone we were interviewing,” said Chief of Police Daniel J. McCaffery. “We’re happy to have him on our team.”

Prior to joining the RPPD, Centeno studied criminal justice at Middlesex County College and in 2015 began working for the Middlesex County Sheriff’s Department. Chief of Police Daniel J. McCaffery lauded Centeno’s qualifications, including being bilingual.

“I can’t wait to start and have a successful career here,” said Centeno.
