ROSELLE PARK, NJ - Police are looking for witnesses to an incident of a 10-year-old child that was struck by a vehicle while trying to cross on Westfield Ave. on Monday morning. 

According to Roselle Park Police, at 8:10 am Monday, a 10-year-old Roselle Park resident was struck by a vehicle while crossing in front of 260 E. Westfield Avenue. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with police.  Police said it appeared that the vehicle was traveling eastbound on E. Westfield Avenue.

Police said, the child was alert at the scene and transported to University Hospital in Newark by Union County EMS with injuries to the head and leg.

Roselle Park Police along with the Union County Police Department Traffic Unit is currently investigating the incident.
