ROSELLE PARK, NJ - Police are asking for anyone that might have been in the area on October 2, at 1:26 pm, at the intersection of West Grant Ave. and Locust St. and may have seen a pedestrian struck by a car to contact them as soon as possible.
Police said officers responded to the intersection of West Grant Ave. and Locust St., on Wednesday afternoon for a report of a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian.
According to police, their investigation determined that a Roselle Park resident was struck while crossing in a designated crosswalk at the intersection. The driver that struck the pedestrian remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
Police said the resident was transported by Union County EMS and Paramedics to University Hospital, in Newark where they remain in critical condition.
Roselle Park Police requests anyone who may have witnessed the accident to call 908-245-2300.
Roselle Park Police Chief Daniel J. McCaffery would like to remind the public to please be vigilant of pedestrians crossing in designated crosswalks. State law dictates that a vehicle must “STOP” for a pedestrian within a designated crosswalk.
