ROSELLE PARK, NJ - A very large tree limb fell early Tuesday morning hitting cars, houses and pulling on utility wires on Union Road in Roselle Park.
According to Roselle Park Police Lt. Dominick Frino, they received a report that a tree limb had fallen on the 100 block of Union Rd. at approximately 6:14 a.m.
Homeowner Angel Chabla said that a little after 6 a.m. he heard a big bang and went outside to find that a huge limb from a tree in his front yard had broken and landed on his daughter's car and another one parked in front of his house. The limb also hit two houses directly across the street and took the power lines down with it.
PSE&G crews were on the scene and had to saw parts of the tree limb before it could be raised off of the car to release the power lines.
The video below shows the crews sawing the limb and at one point police were told by PSE&G workers to move everyone back even further because as you will see in the video, the utility pole on the right was moving. It was uncertain if the pole would snap when the wires were released off of the car.
According to Lt. Frino, there were no injuries to anyone. He also said that three poles and one transformer will have to be replaced. Power in that area will remain out until work crews can make the repairs.
