ROXBURY, NJ - Students from Succasunna's Accents on Dance studio recently competed at the United States Tournament of Dance (USTD) in Atlantic City, an experience that included performing with Simon Cowell's new singing group Pretty Much.

During the Tournament of Dance competition, each number was critiqued and scored by a panel of judges. The Accents on Dance team's results were outstanding and resulted in awards, trophies and ribbons from the tournament staff. There were several days of competition as well as fun activities including pizza parties for dancers, cigar parties for fathers and wine and cheese parties for mothers.

This year USTD included a new experience for all. In conjunction with Sony Pictures and Relativity School for Commercial Dance - both from Los Angeles - the tournament organizers conducted an authentic dance audition that was led by Prince’s choreographer. Feature and back-up dancers were selected  and once a dance routine was set, filming took place for a new music video with Pretty Much.

The singing group was extremely warm and friendly to all dancers and involved them in every aspect of the filming. It was truly an experience few will ever forget. Congratulations to all Accents on Dance competitors for their outstanding participation and performances.

Accent on Dance, at 139 Route 10 East, will soon be taking registrations for the up-coming season. Those interested in joining our studio should call 973-584-4550. We have openings in tap, jazz, ballet, hip-hop and Irish step dancing.
