ROXBURY, NJ - The Roxbury High School ice hockey team won its fourth game of the year on Monday by defeating the West Morris Wolfpack.
The Gaels won 4-3 in the Martin Luther King Day contest at Mennen Sports Arena. The victory brought Roxbury's record to 4-11-1.
After a scoreless first period, both teams got their offenses going. Roxbury scored two during the middle period and West Morris scored one.
Second period goals for Roxbury were made by Nicholas Hefferle, with assists by Billy Hefferle and Shane Miller, and by Miller.
In the final period, both teams found the net twice. For Roxbury, it was Nicholas Hefferle again, with an unassisted goal at 6:01, and Billy Hefferle, helped by Miller and Kyle Jenkins, at 4:59.
Roxbury goaltender Tyler Marston made 24 saves.
The Gaels don't play again until Jan. 24 when they take on Morris Knolls at 6:15 p.m.
