ROXBURY, NJ - Berkshire Valley Road in Roxbury was temporarily closed to traffic Friday morning after a crane truck slammed into the Dover and Rockaway River Railroad overpass.
The incident, which happened at about 9 a.m., left the vehicle - owned by JK Crane of Kenvil - laying on its driver's side in the roadway. The driver might have suffered injuries, according to police radio transmissions. An ambulance was at the scene.
It appeared the hinge of the crane clipped the bottom of the bridge, which is a relatively low 11-feet, 5-inches above the road surface and bears yellow signs warning about the limited clearance.
A person who answered the phone at JK Crane said nobody was immediately available for comment.
